About my work: Geometry of the heart in the language of the senses. - "The path of art is like fishing the moon from the pond." In September 2016 I stopped all other professional activities to fully dedicate myself to my work, to create in a meaningful way with visual language as a tool in my 'glocal' company 'dreams and thoughts', which I officially started the first of February 2023 as an independent committed visual artist.
Emotions and intuition, wonder, visual research, structures, play and events, nature, sound, improvised and composed music and music notation, poetry and literature, traveling by car with drawing material and tent, working at various locations ... are things that were important and are and for my drawn and painted dialogue with and creation of the world. For connected shaping of emotional, sensitive and empathetic depth ... of meaningful relationships with visual materials, tools and resources, with form, line and color. For experiencing and offering moments of beauty, drama and comfort.
All this in an environment with the right conditions so that 'art' can grow and attach itself tot the work, an environment that is just as important as the work and the final result.
A life as a craft with love as a guid and at peace with art. A slow painter and drafstman, participating in a world in which I hope to be able to show my works regulary, and give them the wings to do their work in the public space:
to fly out to the senses and the hearts; to invite the viewer to wonder and silence to step outside clock time, so that she/he hears the real world speaking to her/him as co-creator of the work; to give meaning to the work and give it an existence; to think about and sensitize for change in a society that feels increasingly dehumanized, systemic, materially/morally/financially enslaving, politically poisoned and sometimes frightening: visual art as an ethical and moral involvement whose simple beauty in itself is sufficient.

Furthermore, I don't want to and can't say much about art in general, words are sometimes interesting, but never more than approximations. The real experience is so profound and words cannot replace it. Music must be heard, visual art must be seen ... intimacy, morality and ethics, beauty, drama and comfort are the foundations.

Studie van het onzichtbare, niet voor de winst

(Chinese wijsheid) - "Ik wil mensen daarheen brengen waar ze hun menselijkheid weer kunnen ervaren." (Mark Rothko) - "Intimiteit is de ziel van alle grote kunst, gepaard aan kracht en ontvankelijkheid." (Paula Modersohn-Becker) - "Kunst is een reis die het aankomststation niet kent." (Marisa Merz) - "C'est le spectateur qui fait le tableau." (Marcel Duchamps) - Ware liefde is voor altijd.
In september 2016 stopte ik alle andere beroepsactiviteiten om mij volledig aan mijn werk te wijden; om zinvol en zingevend te werken met beeldende taal als gereedschap in mijn 'glokaal' bedrijf 'dromen en gedachten' dat ik op 1 februari 2023 officieel heb opgestart als zelfstandig, geëngageerd beeldend kunstenaar.

Emoties en intuïtie, verwondering, beeldend onderzoek, structuren, spel en gebeurtenissen, de natuur, geluid, geïmproviseerde en gecomponeerde muziek en muzieknotatie, poëzie en literatuur, reizen met de wagen, tekenmateriaal en tent, werken op verschillende locaties ... zijn dingen die belangrijk waren en zijn voor mijn getekende en geschilderde dialoog met en creatie van de wereld. Voor verbonden vormgeven van emotionele, sensitieve en empathische diepte ... van eenvoudige betekenisvolle relaties met beeldende materialen, gereedschappen en middelen, met vorm, lijn en kleur. Voor het ervaren en aanbieden van momenten van schoonheid, drama en troost.
Dit alles in een omgeving met de juiste voorwaarden waar 'kunst' kan groeien en zich aan het werk kan hechten, een omgeving die even belangrijk is als de arbeid en het uiteindelijke resultaat.

Een leven als ambacht met liefde als gids en in vrede met kunst. Een trage schilder en tekenaar, participerend aan een wereld waarin ik hoop mijn werken regelmatig te kunnen tonen, en ze de vleugels te kunnen geven om hun werk te doen in de publieke ruimte:
om uit te vliegen naar de zintuigen en de harten; de toeschouwer uit te nodigen tot verwondering en stilte om buiten de 'kloktijd' te treden, zodat zij/hij de echte wereld tot zich hoort spreken als medeschepper van het werk; om betekenis te geven aan het werk en het een bestaan te geven; om na te denken over, en te sensibiliseren voor verandering in een samenleving die meer en meer ontmenselijkt, systemisch, materieel/moreel/financieel knechtend, politiek verziekt en soms beangstigend aanvoelt: beeldende kunst als een ethische en morele betrokkenheid waarvan de eenvoudige schoonheid in zichzelf voldoende is.
Verder wil en kan ik algemeen over kunst weinig exact zeggen, verwoordingen zijn soms interessant maar nooit meer dan een benadering. Het echte ervaren is zo diepgaand en woorden kunnen dit niet vervangen. Muziek moet gehoord worden, beeldende kunst gezien ... intimiteit, moraliteit en ethiek, schoonheid, drama en troost zijn de fundamenten.
