1971 - 1974: studied graphic arts in HIGRO, Oude Houtlei, Ghent, Belgium.

1974 - 1977: studied painting in higher art education, studio Dan Van Severen, Sint-Lucas, Ghent, Belgium.

​1978, April 18 - 1978, May 6: group exhibition "Asceticism as art", curated by Yves De Smet; CIC, Kouter 97B, Ghent, Belgium.

1978: teacher in graphic education.

1979 - 1980: civilian service.

1982 - 1984: restorer of plaster and wall paintings, employed and self-employed.

1985 - 1988: educator in an institution for placed children by the court.

1988 - 2016:

• teacher and graphic coordinator in VISO, graphic school in Mariakerke, Ghent, Belgium.​

• half-time graphic coordinator in VISO, half time coordinator of the graphic departments of 10 schools and of 2 photography departments in Flanders, Belgium.

• full-time coordinator of the fields of study for Visual Arts, Decorative techniques, Photography, Graphic communication and media, Performing arts in Flanders, Belgium.

• full time technical and graphic coordinator of the departments Artistic education, Photography, Graphic design, Multimedia, Prepress, Press and Afterpress in VISO, Mariakerke, Ghent, Belgium.

2016: founded my fictional glocal company "Dreams and Thoughts" and devoted myself full-time to my art.

2017: started publishing on LinkedIn.

2018: started publishing on Instagram.

2018, December 13 - 2019, January 12: solo exhibition "Dreams and Thoughts" in Het Objectief, Papegaaistraat 55, Ghent, Belgium.

2019: published my website - www.marcgoddefroy.com

2019, March - 2020, August: participated in the fineart prints project from Het Objectief.

2021, September - 2022, February: presented monthly several artworks in group exhibition at gallery Balthasar, Grand Sablon, Brussels.

2022, February 14: selected with 9 other artists with the work "geometrie-3_3.2" from more than 2000 publishing artists on the website "Beeld" by Luk Tas, coordinator of "Kunstwerkt".

2022, February 18 - 27: group exhibition at gallery Artroze, Kerkstraat 39, 9230 Wetteren.

2022, December 16 - 2023, January 14: group exhibition "tout est nouveau sous la lune" at gallery Van Caelenberg, Dendermondse Steenweg 17, 9300 Aalst.

2023, February 1: official establishment of my company "dromen en gedachten" "dreams and thoughts" as an independent viual artist.

2023, February 23 - March 19: group exhibition "trait d'union" with Emma Mortier and Joke Raes at Gallery D' Apostrof, Pastoriestraat 59, 9800 Meigem.

2023, June 18 - July 2 and 16: open studio afternoons in my temporary studio in Cézan, France.

2023, December 1 - 31: group exhibition "petits objets a" at galerie 10a, Zolderstraat 10a, 8553 Otegem.

2024, Februay 22 - March 23: exhibition with Christian Claus and Vincent Pannunzio at galerie Albert Dumont, Léon Lepagestraat 43, 1000 Brussels.

2024, June 23 - July 14: solo exhibition at gallery Huize St. Bonaventura, Provenierstersstraat 51, 9000 Gent.
